Coats and overalls for dogs

Do dogs need coats? It depends on the breed of the dog, its age, health, coat texture, lifestyle and weather conditions.
Dogs that live in outdoor enclosures and have an undercoat do not need an overcoat, as they are well adapted even to harsh weather conditions. They do not need raincoats either, as dogs' coats have a protective layer that prevents them from getting wet.

However, more and more dogs are becoming an integral part of our family, living in apartments and houses with their owners. They get used to the mild living conditions and find it difficult to adapt to sudden changes. When the air temperature changes from +20 C (indoors) to -10-15 C (outdoors), the dog's body does not react properly to such a big difference in temperature, and the dog can catch colds and become ill. And what about dogs with short hair and no undercoat. In these cases, a coat is essential.

Coats are also necessary for dogs that play sports to protect them from catching colds after strenuous exercise.
We only recommend coats made by reputable manufacturers that are well suited to our weather conditions, have a design that is comfortable for the dog, does not restrict movement, protects the main joints of the legs, is waterproof and pleasantly warm.

For a dog that loves mud baths, dirt- and moisture-absorbing coats will help to keep your dog clean and avoid leaving traces of mud in the car. In winter, long-haired dogs should wear overalls to protect their coat from snow and ice chunks, which can damage the dog's skin on the more sensitive parts of the body (underarms, underbelly).
